Support
How can we help?
Answers to common questions, and a real person to write to if you need one.
What is Turvie?
Support and companionship for quitting smoking, vaping or drinking, in any mix, built on the methods research shows help people quit. Your friend heals as you stay free, every health improvement shows its source, and there's help the moment a craving hits. It's a support tool, not medical treatment.
Who is it for?
People 18 and older who want to quit or cut back on smoking, vaping or drinking.
When can I download it?
Turvie launches November 19 on the App Store and Google Play. This page will link to both as soon as it's live.
Does it cost anything?
Your first week is free, with everything open and nothing to sign up for. After that, Turvie Plus keeps your friend healing and all that comes with them, through the App Store at $8.99 USD a month or $48.99 USD a year (about 55% less than twelve months). The App Store shows the price in your currency before you buy. Your day counter, check-ins and craving support stay free, always.
Do I need an account?
No. Week one asks for nothing to sign up for, and your progress stays on your phone.
How do I move my progress to a new phone?
In the app, open the gear menu and choose Save my progress. You get a code or a file that brings everything back on your new phone.
Where do the health facts come from?
Every improvement card in the app says where it comes from, and the source opens in one tap. All 120 sources are listed, with links, on the Sources page.
I slipped. Have I lost everything?
No. Tap the date under your count to tell your friend. They'll be poorly in bed for a day, and a slip costs half their healing, never all of it. Every day you've had still counts, and the next day they'll talk it through with you.
How do I delete my data?
Deleting the app from your iPhone removes what Turvie keeps on it. If you've emailed us and want that deleted too, just ask.
Can Turvie replace my doctor or a program?
No. Turvie works best alongside real support. See Health and safety for free help lines in Canada and the US. If you drink heavily every day, talk to a doctor before you stop.

Support, not a replacement for your doctor.
Turvie is a support tool, not medical treatment. Turvie is here to support you, not to replace your doctor. Check with a doctor as well as using the app, and before making medical decisions.
If you drink heavily every day, or get shaky or sweaty when a drink is late, talk to a doctor before you stop: alcohol withdrawal can be dangerous. Seizures, hallucinations or severe confusion mean calling emergency services straight away. HealthLink BC on alcohol withdrawal · NIAAA on cutting down or quitting
